Education Tax Credits for Arizona

If you are looking for last minute tax credits for Arizona state taxes you will be glad to see these!

Take a quick look before December 31st BUT its not too late if you wait until April 15th!

1. Qualifying Charitable Organizations

Maximum Credit: $400 for a married couple filing jointly

Contribution Deadline: December 31

2. Qualifying Foster Care Organizations

Maximum Credit: $400 for a married couple filing jointly

Contribution Deadline: December 31

3. Qualifying Public Schools (donations for support of extracurricular activities or charter education programs) 

Maximum Credit: $400 for a married couple filing jointly

Contribution Deadline: April 15th

4. Qualifying Private School Tuition (consists of two credits, see below)

a. Private  School Tuition Organization

Maximum Credit: $1,070 for a married couple filing jointly

b. Certified School Tuition Organization

Maximum Credit: $1,064 for a married couple filing jointly (must first donate the maximum allowed under a. above)

Contribution Deadline: April 15th

5. S Corporation Private School Tuition Credit Passed Through to its Individual Shareholders

This is a new credit available beginning January 1, 2015, but the requirements are more complex and the amount of contribution varies depending on circumstances.
